Sustainable mobility

Sustainable Mobility is vital to building livable cities. Globally the transport sector accounts for 15-20% of GHG emissions, reaching about 25% in Europe and North America, and is the main cause of air pollution in cities. There is a lot of potential for public authorities to reimagine and shape mobility systems that are safe, affordable, accessible, resilient, low emissions, and meet the needs of all.

ICLEI has been supporting cities and regions in creating sustainable mobility for people and goods. Through our flagship initiatives, the EcoMobility and EcoLogistics initiatives, we support cities and regions by providing information, advice, tools, capacity building, and networking opportunities to turn vision into action.
