Supporting Partners

ICLEI – Local Governments for Sustainability and the City of Malmö are partnering with the City Futures Academy and the International Institute for Industrial Environmental Economics (IIIEE) at Lund University to support capacity building and lifelong learning of participants at the ICLEI World Congress 2021 – 2022. The City Futures Academy is an online learning community on sustainable cities with over 100,000 participants in its vibrant series of Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs). Through this collaboration access to a diversity of films, podcasts and materials will be provided, allowing the event to live on and reach larger and wider audiences. The underlying purpose is to actively contribute to amplifying urban transformation capacities for individuals, communities and organizations.

ICLD’s mission is to support democratic participation and change at the local level. ICLD strengthens local governments’ capacity to analyse, prioritize and implement Agenda 2030 in accordance with their own needs, priorities and resources. We support local governments in 15 countries through municipal partnerships, training programs and research. In 2022, ICLD will launch a Climate network, a form of cooperation where some selected municipalities receive increased support from ICLD to conduct their results-oriented international projects.

Skånetrafiken is an administration within Region Skåne that exists for everyone who lives and works and travels in Skåne. Every year, more than 170 million journeys are made by city buses, regional buses, trains and service vehicles. The majority of Skånetrafiken’s journeys are made with renewable fuels that are marked with the Swedish Society for Nature Conservation’s Good Environmental Choice label. All train and tram traffic is powered by renewable electricity, marked with Good Environmental Choice. The same applies to Skånetrafiken’s electric buses. In other bus traffic, biogas is mainly used as fuel. Everyone in society should have the opportunity to travel in a sustainable way!
