Interested participants can join the Global Research Symposium on 10 May 2022. There are a limited number of tickets available so be sure to register soon. Register through the Congress registration form at the added cost of 500 SEK (excluding VAT) or as a stand-alone event for 1500 SEK (excluding VAT). *ICLEI Members who wish to attend the virtual offerings of the congress as a delegation (3 or more people) are eligible for a discount of 10% on an individual fee.

Important information about VAT for virtual attendees:

  • Fees excluding 25% VAT
  • Participants representing a company or organization from a country outside of Sweden are NOT required to pay Swedish VAT on the registration fee for virtual attendance.
  • Participants from an EU country (Sweden not included) must indicate a valid VAT number, otherwise, VAT will be added to the registration fee.
  • Participants from a country outside of the EU can register without a VAT number.

Registration Fees for the Research Symposium

If you register to attend the ICLEI World Congress 2021-2022: The Malmö Summit in person, you will have the opportunity to add-on the registration for the Research Symposium. When combined with Congress registration, the cost of the Symposium is 500 SEK (excluding VAT). Please use the registration links for the Congress which are provided above.

If you wish to register for the Research Symposium as a stand-alone in person event, the cost is 1500 SEK (excluding VAT). Please register using the button below.

Fee categories explained

ICLEI Member: Full Members of ICLEI (representatives from cities, towns and regions). This fee does not apply to companies or public authorities working with a local government that is a Member of ICLEI.

In-person Regular are individuals affiliated with:

  • Local and regional government associations
  • Local and regional governments (Non-Members)
  • National governments and intergovernmental organizations
  • UN and other international agencies and financial institutions
  • NGOs and civil society from outside of Sweden
  • Academic and research institutions
  • Private sector

Swedish NGO / Civil Society: Representatives of NGOs and civil society from Sweden

Student: Enrolled in a recognized academic institution Bachelor’s, Master’s or PhD students. To register students must be able to provide Student ID or similar documentation confirming their affiliation with a university.

Virtual (Regular) are individuals affiliated with:
