This session focuses on how to address resilient development, considering how to deal with financial and capacity issues, and tackle knowledge gaps to define and implement a sustainable, resilient and just socio-economic, and environmental recovery – a green recovery. The focus is on exploring the expertise needed, identifying good practice and the evolving support offer available to local governments.
An urban resilient world is a place where people and nature coexist – not just to survive natural disasters and climate shocks and stresses, but also to thrive in spite of these.
ICLEI, with its partners, offer support to guide and accompany local leaders and technical teams on this journey – among others including ICLEI’s Resilience Cycle Methodology, the Making Cities Resilient 2030 (MCR2030) Resilience Roadmaps, the UrbanShift Program addressing integrated approaches to urban development, and the Urban Infrastructure Insurance Facility (UIIF) in Latin America – to mention but a few.
